Who is it for?
Altitude sickness treatment is suitable for adults travelling to high-altitude destinations, typically above 2,500 metres, where reduced oxygen levels can cause symptoms.
How it works:
The medication helps your body adjust to changes in altitude by improving oxygen delivery and reducing fluid build-up, lowering the risk of altitude-related symptoms.
Dosage:
Treatment is usually started 1–2 days before ascent and continued during the period at high altitude, as advised by your pharmacist. Always follow the dosing instructions provided.
Side effects:
Possible side effects may include tingling in the fingers or toes, increased urination, mild nausea, or taste changes. These are generally temporary.
Additional precautions:
Ascend gradually where possible, stay well hydrated, and avoid alcohol during early stages of ascent. If severe symptoms develop, descend immediately and seek medical attention.
