Who is it for?
Period delay treatment is suitable for women who wish to postpone their period for a short period of time, such as for travel, special events, or important occasions.
How it works:
The medication contains norethisterone, a synthetic hormone that helps maintain the lining of the womb and prevents your period from starting while you continue taking it.
Dosage:
Treatment is usually started 3 days before your expected period. One tablet is taken three times daily and can be continued for up to 14 days. Your period will typically begin 2–3 days after stopping the medication.
Side effects:
Possible side effects may include bloating, breast tenderness, nausea, headache, or mood changes. These effects are usually mild and temporary.
